rubiTrack 5 Pro 5.2 is available now

Post by mspoettl » Tue Apr 02, 2019 8:13 am

Update 5.2 is now available. This update brings support for syncing with Suunto App, Suunto's new cloud which is replacing Movescount. This updates also adds a other improvements and fixes a number of issues including crashes.

Best Regards
Markus

=== New in rubiTrack 5 Pro 5.2 ===
* Adds support for syncing with the Suunto App cloud, Suunto's replacement for Movescount.
* Improves handling of indoor cycling activities "Exercise Biking" and "Roller Biking" by not using the GPS information for those activity types when determining the activity timezone.
* The application preference option "Import Auto-Laps" on the "Import" settings page now also applies to activities imported from FIT data. Apart from file import of .FIT files, this also applies when direct device-syncing with any newer USB-connected Garmin device and when importing from Suunto App.
* Fixes a problem in the Equipment Collection view where the equipment name wasn't displayed in extended mode.
* Fixes a problem with the chart with activities that carry certain invalid track data points.
* Fixes a problem where the activation assistant kept appearing after license activation.
* Fixes a crash after import if the celebration feature is active while importing activities the types of which have been deleted.
* Fixes crashes when closing the Equipment or Training Summary windows rapidly after changing the selected filter from the sidebar.
* Fixes an issue when joining activities that are using the original device data flag. Upon joining activities, rubiTrack will now deactivate original device data for the new activity automatically.

The rt2go update appeared in the App Store this morning, I had been watching out for it.

Disappointed though, still truncated date displays on both my devices (iPhone SE and iPad 12.9”) and still no decent landscape activities view. Pity because I like rt2go, imports from RunGap by Open-In work great and all the other landscape displays (maps, charts, summary views) are excellent and the date display especially really spoils things for me.

Unfortunately there’s nothing better for the iPad though except the web based services, so I’ll stick with rt2go and hope that one day it’ll be customised for the iPad a bit better. Not holding my breath though :(

Updated yesterday, and now data from my Garmin is being mis-interpreted by RubiTrack. What should be an 8.09 mile run in 1:18:18
is shown as a
1-lap, 7.98 mile run in 1:17:26 on the map
AND
a 48 second 0.09 mile run on the calendar.

I've loved using RubiTrack for years, but this is unsatisfactory. 100% unsatisfactory.

No change in this release would have caused an activity to be split in two. This sounds like a recording issue. If you have the original .FIT file we can take a look at it, send it over to support@rubi….

There has been a GPS week-count rollover event this week that can cause any kind of problems with GPS devices that are implemented incorrectly. Your device may need an firmware update. For details see this: https://arstechnica.com/information-tec ... e-effects/

Hi,

the file you sent imports correctly with just one activity in it. You should see good results if you re-import the file manually using the newest version (5.2.1) - delete the current version from your rubiTrack file first.

I guess the problem was Original Device Data.

Best Regards
